Alioune Sall has officially
concluded his tenure as Senegal’s Minister of Communication, Telecommunications
and Digital Affairs, expressing gratitude to President Bassirou Diomaye Faye
for the confidence placed in him during his time in government.
In a farewell message
following the formation of a new government, Sall thanked the President for
entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the ministry and described
the appointment as a source of motivation and commitment to serving the nation.
He also expressed
appreciation to Ousmane Sonko, now President of the National Assembly, for the
collaboration and support they shared while serving together in government.
Reflecting on his tenure,
Sall stated that he had carried out his duties with loyalty, integrity and
dedication, prioritizing the national interest throughout his time in office.
Among the key achievements
highlighted by the outgoing minister was the implementation of Senegal’s New
Technological Deal, a flagship initiative aimed at strengthening the country’s
digital sovereignty and accelerating digital transformation.
According to Sall, the
programme contributed to the expansion of technological infrastructure,
promoted local innovation and advanced digital inclusion efforts across the
country, helping position Senegal as an emerging player in Africa’s digital
economy.
He noted that reforms
undertaken in the areas of digital technology, connectivity and digital
transformation would continue to serve as important pillars for Senegal’s
economic and social development.
Sall expressed confidence
that the incoming government would continue implementing the reforms initiated
under the ministry and work toward meeting the aspirations of Senegalese
citizens.
