Malawi has successfully hosted an Innovation Talk Series focused on unlocking
content monetisation opportunities within Malawi’s growing creative economy.
The
event, held under the theme “Unlocking Content Monetisation in Malawi’s
Creative Economy,” brought together stakeholders from the creative sector,
digital innovators, entrepreneurs and aspiring content creators to discuss
emerging opportunities in the digital economy.

The
forum featured remarks and insights from the Minister of Information, Shadrick
Namalomba, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident
Representative, Chika Charles, and renowned content creator Taurai Mache
Yvonne, among other industry participants.
Discussions
at the event centred on the role of innovation, digital skills development,
content creation and entrepreneurship in driving sustainable income
opportunities within the creative industry.
Speakers
emphasized the importance of building structured monetisation pathways that can
support creatives in turning digital content into viable economic assets while
contributing to broader economic growth in Malawi.

Participants
also explored the need for stronger support systems, capacity building and
ecosystem partnerships to strengthen the country’s creative and digital
industries.
