MTN
Group’s mobile money platform, MoMo, has launched the 21 Days of Y’elloCare
initiative, with a renewed focus on advancing financial inclusion and improving
financial health across communities.
MTN
Group Fintech CEO, Serigne Dioum, highlighted the initiative as part of the
company’s broader commitment to expanding access to financial services and
empowering underserved populations, particularly young people.
Under
this year’s theme, “Equitable Financial Health for Every Community,” the
campaign seeks to demonstrate the role of MTN MoMo in enabling financial access
and economic participation, with emphasis on education and empowerment.
According
to the Dioum, financial inclusion is a critical driver of opportunity,
particularly for young people in South Africa and across MTN’s operating
markets. The initiative aims to ensure that mobile financial services translate
into broader socio-economic benefits.
The
campaign will focus on financial education programmes designed to equip
individuals with the knowledge and tools required to make informed financial
decisions and build sustainable livelihoods.
MTN
MoMo noted that the initiative goes beyond facilitating transactions,
positioning itself as a platform that supports economic empowerment and
community development.
The
company reaffirmed its commitment to using digital financial services to deepen
inclusion and create long-term value for communities across its footprint.
