Kenya
has called for stronger international collaboration to address emerging
cybersecurity threats linked to artificial intelligence, warning that the
technology is increasingly being exploited for cybercrime, including
deepfake-enabled fraud and large-scale digital attacks.
Cabinet
Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy William
Kabogo made the remarks during the G7+
dialogue on cybersecurity challenges posed by artificial intelligence held in
Paris.

William
Kabogo stated that while AI presents
significant opportunities for economic transformation and innovation, it is
also lowering the barriers for cybercriminal activity at an unprecedented
scale.
He
called for stronger global cooperation in developing defensive AI capabilities,
enhancing trusted digital systems, and enabling real-time coordination on cyber
threats between nations.

Kabogo
further emphasized the importance of shared resilience between developed and
developing countries, noting that effective responses to AI-driven
cybersecurity risks require coordinated international action.
Kenya
reaffirmed its readiness to work with global partners to build a safer, more
secure and inclusive digital environment as AI continues to reshape the global
technological landscape.
