Ghana
International School (GIS) has recorded a strong performance at the Robotics
for Good Youth Challenge Ghana 2026, with its student teams securing top
placements in the national competition held in partnership with MakersPlace,
the International Telecommunication Union and Google.
The
competition, hosted at GIS, brought together 30 junior and 20 senior teams from
across Ghana, showcasing emerging talent in robotics, innovation and STEM
education.

Ghana
International School participated in the event for the first time and was
represented by student teams who competed against some of the country’s leading
young innovators.
The
school’s senior team, Fusion Innovators, achieved second place in the senior
category, while the junior team Quantum Minds advanced to the quarterfinal
stage in their division. The results were described as a reflection of the
students’ creativity, teamwork and technical competence throughout the
competition.
Organisers
highlighted the event’s role in promoting youth engagement in robotics and
digital skills development, with participating institutions and partners
emphasizing the importance of preparing students for future careers in science
and technology.

GIS
noted that the achievement underscores its continued commitment to
innovation-driven learning and the development of future-ready students through
hands-on exposure to technology and problem-solving initiatives.
The
school also acknowledged MakersPlace and other partners for their support in
delivering the programme and providing a platform for young innovators across
Ghana to showcase their capabilities.
