Ghana International School (GIS) has recorded a strong performance at the Robotics for Good Youth Challenge Ghana 2026, with its student teams securing top placements in the national competition held in partnership with MakersPlace, the International Telecommunication Union and Google.

The competition, hosted at GIS, brought together 30 junior and 20 senior teams from across Ghana, showcasing emerging talent in robotics, innovation and STEM education.

Ghana International School participated in the event for the first time and was represented by student teams who competed against some of the country’s leading young innovators.

The school’s senior team, Fusion Innovators, achieved second place in the senior category, while the junior team Quantum Minds advanced to the quarterfinal stage in their division. The results were described as a reflection of the students’ creativity, teamwork and technical competence throughout the competition.

Organisers highlighted the event’s role in promoting youth engagement in robotics and digital skills development, with participating institutions and partners emphasizing the importance of preparing students for future careers in science and technology.

GIS noted that the achievement underscores its continued commitment to innovation-driven learning and the development of future-ready students through hands-on exposure to technology and problem-solving initiatives.

The school also acknowledged MakersPlace and other partners for their support in delivering the programme and providing a platform for young innovators across Ghana to showcase their capabilities.
