Sierra
Leone’s Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, has visited the Orange
Digital Center in Freetown, where he engaged with innovation programmes aimed
at advancing digital skills, youth empowerment and inclusive technology
development.
The
visit, brought together government and private sector stakeholders to review
ongoing initiatives at the innovation hub and reinforce collaboration on
digital transformation priorities in Sierra Leone.
Dr.
Sengeh was received by senior leadership of Orange Sierra Leone, including
Chief Executive Officer Aïcha Touré, General Secretary Danetta Lewis Younge,
and Director of Orange Foundation and Orange Digital Center Annie Wonnie-Katta.

During
the visit, the Chief Minister toured the facility and participated in
interactive sessions with learners engaged in digital training programmes. He
also held discussions with participants enrolled in the Python Programming for
Women initiative, which is focused on strengthening digital skills and
expanding opportunities for women in technology.
The
Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering innovation,
expanding digital inclusion, and equipping young people with the skills
required to participate in the digital economy. He emphasized the importance of
partnerships with the private sector in scaling digital literacy and
innovation-driven development.

The
Orange Digital Center initiative forms part of broader efforts by Orange to
support skills development, entrepreneurship and digital inclusion across
Africa through training and innovation programmes. The visit was described by
participants as a reaffirmation of shared ambitions for accelerating Sierra
Leone’s digital transformation agenda.
