by MTN Uganda participated in the Women in Banking and Finance Conference 2026
held at Mestil Hotel & Residences, joining industry leaders, professionals,
and changemakers to discuss the future of finance under the theme “Give to
Gain: Investing in Women, Transforming Finance.”

The
MoMo team, led by Acting Chief Financial Officer Martha Bisamaza, contributed
to discussions focused on strengthening women’s leadership and advancing
inclusion across the financial sector.
Speaking
during the conference, Bisamaza underscored the importance of intentional
sponsorship for women in leadership, noting that organizations must go beyond
informal recognition and actively create opportunities for women to demonstrate
measurable impact through leadership roles and strategic assignments.

Her
remarks emphasized the need for institutions to deliberately identify
high-potential women and entrust them with meaningful responsibilities that
contribute to business transformation and sector-wide growth.
The
conference brought together stakeholders from across the banking and financial
services industry to explore strategies for advancing gender inclusion,
leadership development, and sustainable sector transformation. MoMo by MTN
Uganda reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that empower women
and strengthen leadership capacity within the financial ecosystem.
