The Botswana Communications
Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) is hosting a specialised IPv6 training workshop in
partnership with AFRINIC, ICT Dynamix and Mascom Wireless to strengthen the
country’s internet infrastructure and accelerate the transition to
next-generation internet protocols.
The training brings together
Internet Service Providers and government technical teams with a focus on
equipping engineers with practical skills to deploy and manage IPv6 networks.
Organisers say the programme
is aimed at addressing the growing need for expanded internet address capacity
and improved network efficiency as digital demand continues to rise across
Botswana.

The initiative is designed
to support the gradual adoption of IPv6, which is expected to enhance
connectivity, scalability and long-term sustainability of internet
infrastructure.
BOCRA noted that the
workshop forms part of broader national efforts to modernise digital systems
and ensure readiness for future internet growth driven by increased data usage
and digital service expansion.
The training also reflects
ongoing collaboration between regulatory authorities, private sector operators
and technical partners in advancing Botswana’s digital transformation agenda.
