The Republic of Rwanda and
the United Republic of Tanzania have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed
at strengthening cooperation in the development of the energy sector.
The agreement was concluded
during the second edition of the Nuclear Energy Innovation Summit for Africa
(NEISA), held in Rwanda, and is intended to deepen bilateral collaboration in
strategic areas of energy infrastructure and development.
According to the Ministry of
Infrastructure of Rwanda (Rwanda Ministry of Infrastructure), the MoU reflects
a shared commitment by both countries to enhance cooperation in power
infrastructure development, renewable energy expansion, institutional capacity
building and cross-border energy initiatives.

Officials say the agreement
is designed to support long-term energy security and sustainability goals while
improving regional collaboration in addressing growing energy demand across
East Africa.
The partnership is also
expected to strengthen technical exchange and coordination between the two
countries as they pursue broader development and integration objectives within
the energy sector.
The signing marks another
step in regional efforts to advance clean energy solutions and improve access
to reliable power systems across the continent.
