The
National Communication Authority (NCA) has participated in the Global Symposium
for Regulators (GSR-26) held in Ankara, Türkiye, as part of ongoing efforts to
strengthen regulatory frameworks and support South Sudan’s digital
transformation agenda.
The
Authority was represented at the event by the Director of Spectrum Management,
Eng. Dut Col Dut. The symposium, held under the theme “Navigating the Digital
Frontier,” brought together global regulators, policymakers, and digital sector
stakeholders to discuss strategies for building a more resilient, inclusive,
and future-ready digital ecosystem.

A
key outcome of the symposium was the development of the GSR-26 Best Practice
Guidelines on “Regulatory Governance Essentials: The New Core Kit Regulators
Need to Make Digital Markets Deliver,” aimed at supporting improved regulatory
governance in rapidly evolving digital markets.
According
to the NCA, the engagement provided an important platform for knowledge
exchange, strengthening international partnerships, and benchmarking regulatory
practices against global standards.

The
Authority noted that participation in such forums is critical to accelerating
South Sudan’s digital transformation process and enhancing its capacity to
regulate an increasingly complex communications environment.
The
NCA reaffirmed its commitment to adopting global best practices to build a
secure, innovative, and inclusive communications sector that supports national
development objectives and expands digital access for citizens.
