The Managing Director
Emerging Africa at SAP, Shiraz Khota has praised Kenya’s strategic approach to
digital transformation following discussions with the country’s Principal
Secretary for ICT and Digital Economy, John Kipchumba Tanui.
The engagement focused on
Kenya’s digital development priorities and opportunities for collaboration in
advancing enterprise technology adoption and digital innovation.

According to Khota,
discussions highlighted the government’s commitment to implementing the
country’s Digital Masterplan through initiatives focused on smart cities, cloud
adoption, enterprise modernisation, business artificial intelligence and
digital skills development.
He noted that the
integration of artificial intelligence into business operations such as
finance, supply chain management, human resources and customer experience could
help organisations move beyond experimentation toward measurable outcomes and
operational efficiency.
The discussions also
underscored the importance of digital skills development in supporting the
successful implementation of Kenya’s digital transformation agenda and
strengthening the country’s capacity to compete within the global digital
economy.

Representatives from SAP and
stakeholders attending the meeting emphasized the role of partnerships between
government and technology firms in building digitally empowered enterprises and
supporting long-term economic growth across Africa.
The engagement forms part of
Kenya’s broader efforts to accelerate digital transformation, expand
technology-driven services and strengthen innovation-led economic development.
