Orange Cameroon has officially inaugurated its sixth Orange Digital Center in Cameroon at the University of Maroua, reinforcing efforts to expand digital skills development, entrepreneurship, and employability opportunities in the country’s Far North Region.

The inauguration ceremony brought together senior government officials and institutional leaders, including the Governor of the Far North Region, the Rector of the University of Maroua, the Mayor of Maroua, Orange Cameroon Chief Executive Officer Patrick Benon, and the company’s Director of Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility, Catherine Reine Mbengon.

The new facility is designed to serve as a hub for digital innovation, training, and entrepreneurship by strengthening collaboration between academia and the private sector.

Orange Cameroon said the Digital Center forms part of its broader commitment to promoting inclusive digital transformation and supporting youth empowerment across the country.

According to the company, the center has already recorded early progress since its technical opening, with 481 young people trained and 50 international certifications issued.

The Orange Digital Center initiative aims to equip young people with practical digital skills, encourage innovation, and support startup development as Cameroon continues to expand its digital economy and technology ecosystem.
