Uganda
has launched a three-day stakeholder engagement workshop aimed at advancing the
development of its national Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies
Strategy.
The
workshop, organised by the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance at the
National ICT Innovation Hub, brings together key stakeholders to review and
refine a draft strategy developed through earlier nationwide consultations.

Officials
said the engagement is designed to ensure that the final strategy reflects
diverse inputs, remains practical in implementation, and aligns with Uganda’s
broader digital transformation priorities.
The
initiative forms part of the government’s efforts to position the country to
harness the opportunities presented by artificial intelligence and emerging
technologies, while addressing potential risks and capacity gaps.

Participants
are expected to contribute insights that will shape policy direction,
strengthen innovation frameworks, and support the development of a sustainable
and inclusive digital ecosystem in Uganda.
The
Ministry noted that the process underscores its commitment to collaborative
policy development as the country moves to integrate advanced technologies into
its national development agenda.
