The
Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation
has announced the appointment of its new Executive Committee, which will
oversee the organisation’s strategic direction as it works to advance digital
development across member states.
The
new leadership structure includes Mauritius as Chair, Uganda as First
Vice-Chair, and Grenada as Second Vice-Chair. Samoa will serve as Exco-Member
and Immediate Past Chair, while Cameroon, Lesotho and Mozambique have been
appointed as additional Exco-Members.
The
organisation said the newly constituted committee will play a central role in
strengthening collaboration among Commonwealth countries and supporting
initiatives aimed at accelerating innovation, digital transformation and
inclusive connectivity.
According
to the CTO, the leadership team is expected to focus on fostering partnerships
that enhance digital infrastructure development and promote the effective use
of technology to drive socio-economic growth across the Commonwealth.
The
announcement reflects the organisation’s continued commitment to supporting
coordinated digital policy development and encouraging knowledge sharing among
member states as they navigate the evolving global technology landscape.
