Kenya has unveiled its 110th Digital Hub in a continued nationwide rollout aimed at expanding access to digital skills and promoting innovation among young people.

The Kiharu Digital Hub, located at Kiharu Technical and Vocational College in Murang’a County, was officially launched by President William Ruto. The initiative is part of a government programme implemented in partnership with the ICT Authority of Kenya, the Communications Authority of Kenya and the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).

The programme is designed to equip Kenyan youth with practical digital skills, support job creation and enhance participation in the digital economy through accessible infrastructure and training facilities.

The launch event was attended by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy William Kabogo, Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Alice Wahome, Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang'ata and Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung'wah, among other government officials and stakeholders.

Officials described the rollout of digital hubs as a key component of Kenya’s broader strategy to bridge the digital divide and strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem. The initiative is expected to expand opportunities for youth in technology, entrepreneurship and digital services across the country.

The government reiterated its commitment to building future-ready infrastructure under its digital transformation agenda, aimed at positioning Kenya as a regional hub for innovation and technology-driven growth.
