Guinea
has taken a significant step in advancing its digital transformation agenda
with the launch of the inaugural workshop for the Simandou 2040 Programme’s
digital pillar.
The workshop, held at the Ministry of Communication,
Digital Economy and Innovation, brought together senior government officials,
directors, and development partners to translate strategic vision into
actionable plans.

The session resulted in the mapping of 15 strategic
projects and the identification of 75 concrete activities aimed at driving the
implementation of the programme. Teams were constituted with defined
responsibilities, while project backlogs were validated and initial execution
phases scheduled.
Officials noted that the initiative
marks the formal commencement of the digital component of the Simandou 2040
Programme, which is designed to support Guinea’s long-term economic
transformation through digital innovation and infrastructure development.

The workshop also benefited from
contributions by stakeholders from the Delivery Unit, consulting firms, and
public sector institutions, reflecting a collaborative approach to
implementation.
Authorities
indicated that the focus will now shift toward execution, with structured
delivery mechanisms in place to ensure progress across the identified projects
and activities.
