International
experts, policymakers and researchers gathered in Lyon for the One Health
Summit to advance a coordinated global approach linking human, animal and
environmental health.
The
second day of the summit featured a scientific symposium titled “One Health,
One Science,” bringing together more than 600 participants to examine the
interconnected nature of global health challenges. The session was opened by
Éléonore Caroit and Élisabeth Claverie de Saint Martin, and concluded by
Philippe Baptiste alongside the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture
Organization.

Discussions
throughout the day focused on strengthening scientific collaboration and policy
alignment to address health risks at the intersection of ecosystems, animals
and human populations.
The
summit also included sessions engaging philanthropies, local authorities and
youth groups to promote practical solutions for sustainable health outcomes.
Public
engagement activities were held at Parc de la Tête d'Or, where the One Health
Discovery Village attracted more than 20,000 participants. The initiative aimed
to raise awareness of global health issues and encourage community
participation in advancing integrated health solutions.

Organizers
highlighted the summit as a demonstration of multilateral cooperation, with
science and international dialogue central to efforts to address complex global
health challenges.
