The
2026 edition of the CEO of the Day programme has concluded in Cotonou, bringing
together nearly 200 participants, including business leaders, partners, and
media representatives from across West Africa.
Speaking
after the event, Uche Ofodile highlighted the growing impact of the initiative,
noting that it is evolving beyond a symbolic experience into a platform driving
real change in leadership development and gender inclusion.

The
programme, which allows young girls and women to step into executive leadership
roles for a day, is increasingly fostering cross-border networks among
participants. According to organizers, alumni of the initiative are forming
lasting professional connections, supporting one another and creating new
opportunities across industries and countries.
Companies
participating in the initiative are also beginning to reassess internal talent
development strategies, with some introducing more structured approaches to
identifying and promoting women into leadership positions.

The
event drew participation from organizations including Canal+ Benin, Epitech
Afrique and UBA Benin, which have consistently supported the programme since
its inception in 2023.
Organisers
noted that the sustained commitment of such partners has contributed
significantly to the programme’s growth and credibility.
The
initiative continues to gain momentum as a regional platform aimed at
empowering women, reshaping corporate leadership pipelines and strengthening
inclusive participation in business leadership across Africa.
