Young
Scientists Kenya (YSK) has announced its participation in the 2026 Kenya
Science and Engineering Fair currently underway in Garissa County, bringing
together students from institutions including Garissa High School and NEP Girls
High School to showcase innovation and scientific creativity.

The
week-long event began with participant arrivals on March 29, followed by an
opening ceremony on March 30, and is expected to conclude on April 4. The fair
serves as a platform for young learners to present projects and engage with
science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
Ahead
of the fair, YSK implemented the 2026 Experience AI Teacher Training programme,
aimed at equipping educators with the skills to guide students in artificial
intelligence and digital innovation.

More
than 100 educators registered for the training, with 87 successfully completing
the programme and receiving certification. Participants reported positive
feedback on the curriculum and resources provided to support digital learning.
YSK
highlighted the importance of extending technical support beyond major urban
centres, noting that initiatives like the training programme help bridge gaps
between Nairobi and regional areas. The organization reaffirmed its commitment
to promoting innovation and expanding access to STEM education across all 47
counties.
