The Fondation Vodacom Congo
has reinforced its commitment to empowering young women through its Women’s
Leadership Academy, aimed at nurturing the next generation of female leaders in
the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The initiative was
highlighted during a recent engagement with participants of the academy,
attended by Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, who also serves as President of the
Fondation LONA. Her participation underscored the importance of female
leadership in national development and inspired participants to pursue their
ambitions with confidence.
The programme is being
implemented in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund, focusing
on creating opportunities for young girls through a framework that integrates
protection, rights, and leadership development.

Vodacom Foundation
representatives emphasized the role of digital technology as a key enabler of
empowerment, noting that the academy, delivered through the VodaEduc platform,
is designed to expand access to quality education and equip young women with the
tools needed to thrive in the digital economy.
The initiative forms part of
broader efforts to promote inclusive development by strengthening female
participation in leadership and economic activities across the country.
