Vodacom Congo has launched the Moloni project in Kasai Oriental as part of efforts to support agricultural development, promote food security and contribute to the development of the country’s green corridor initiative.

The project is being implemented in Miabi, where the company has begun a pilot phase involving 1,000 farmers drawn from local communities. The initiative aims to use digital tools and connectivity to improve agricultural productivity and strengthen the livelihoods of farming households in the region.

According to the company, the Moloni platform is designed to empower farmers with access to information and digital resources that can help improve farming practices and decision-making.

The initiative also places particular emphasis on supporting women in agriculture, with 600 of the beneficiaries being women engaged in agricultural entrepreneurship.

As part of the project, community leaders have also been equipped with digital terminals to facilitate the dissemination of information and strengthen communication within farming communities.

Vodacom Congo said the Moloni platform has been designed as a flexible and scalable digital solution capable of adapting to different local conditions and development needs.

The company noted that the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to support sustainable development and drive digital inclusion while contributing to the country’s transition toward greener and more resilient economic systems.
