Egypt's Minister of Communications joins Foreign Affairs Ministry to discuss services and support for citizens abroad

Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Raafat Hindi has joined a coordination meeting hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss strategies for improving services and support for Egyptians living abroad. The session included Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and representatives from several national authorities.

Participants exchanged views on facilitating services for Egyptians abroad, covering issues such as customs procedures for mobile phones and vehicles, equivalence of educational certificates for children of citizens overseas, and flexible admission ratios for Egyptian students studying abroad. Discussions also addressed improving consular services, automating procedures, simplifying identity document issuance, updating citizen data, and providing legal support.

The ministers reviewed initiatives to strengthen connections between Egyptians abroad and their homeland, including topics related to overseas recruitment, secondment of workers, and the “Beit Watan” program. They also agreed to explore incentives and practical measures to ease interactions with government agencies.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue coordination and periodic consultations, aiming to develop actionable solutions that improve services and address the concerns of Egyptians living abroad, reflecting the state’s dedication to supporting its citizens and maintaining strong ties with the diaspora.
