The
Service Géologique National du Sénégal (SGNS) has facilitated a meeting between
innovators from the Min'Ovation 2025 Hackathon and the leadership of the Centre
de Suivi Écologique (CSE) as part of efforts to promote and support emerging
projects in the mining sector.
The
meeting, held at the premises of the Ecological Monitoring Center, brought
together project teams to present their innovative initiatives and engage in
discussions aimed at strengthening the development of their solutions.
Director
General of CSE, Cheikh Mbow, received the project leaders and provided insights
and guidance during the exchange session, which focused on improving the
feasibility and long-term impact of the initiatives.
Representing
SGNS at the meeting were the Director of Laboratories, Alla Diaw, the Director
of Documentation and Information, Fatoumata Dramé, and the Communications
Officer, Rokhaya Wane.
Participants
were encouraged to continue refining their projects and to explore potential
avenues for mobilizing financial support to advance the development of their
innovations.
The
project teams also expressed appreciation to the Director General of SGNS,
Rokhaya Samba Diene, for facilitating the engagement, and to Cheikh Mbow for
hosting the meeting and sharing strategic guidance.
According
to SGNS, the initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to fostering
innovation and supporting the development of scientific and technological
solutions that contribute to a responsible and sustainable mining sector in
Senegal.
