Vodacom has officially
launched the 2026 UN Global Compact SGD Innovation Accelerator at Vodacom World,
welcoming 98 young professionals from across Africa to a nine-month program
focused on purpose-driven innovation. Participants will develop commercially
viable solutions aimed at advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs).

The initiative includes 20
innovators from Vodacom Group, Vodacom Lesotho, Vodacom South Africa, XLink
Payment Technology, and Mast, reflecting the company’s commitment to fostering
sustainable and connected communities across the continent.
Recognized as a Top Employer
for three consecutive years, Vodacom highlighted the program’s history of
impactful projects, including award-winning solutions such as eVuka in digital
health, Imani for SME marketplaces, and ConnectZero, which provides zero-cost
connectivity.

The 2026 cohort is expected
to generate innovative ideas with the potential to reshape industries, empower
communities, and accelerate Africa’s progress toward a sustainable and
digitally connected future.
