The leadership team of MTN
MoMo Uganda has conducted field visits to engage mobile money agents and
merchants in Jinja and Bweyogerere as part of efforts to strengthen
financial inclusion and improve services across the mobile money ecosystem.
The engagement was led by Acting Chief Executive
Officer Sarah Bateta Okwi, who met with
agents and merchants to discuss operational challenges, opportunities for
business growth and ways to enhance the support available to them.

During the visit, agents shared
feedback on the performance of existing services, areas where additional
support is needed and suggestions for improving the efficiency of mobile money
operations. Company officials said such engagements provide valuable insights
that help shape service improvements and innovation within the platform.
MTN MoMo noted that mobile money
agents and merchants play a critical role in expanding financial access by
serving as trusted partners within local communities. Beyond facilitating
transactions, many agents operate as small business owners and employers,
contributing to economic activity in their areas.

The company said feedback gathered
from the field will inform future improvements to its services, operational
processes and support systems for agents and merchants.
MTN MoMo
Uganda added that strengthening the mobile money ecosystem requires continued
collaboration with agents, merchants and customers to ensure sustainable growth
and wider access to digital financial services across the country.
