President
of Kenya, William
Samoei Ruto has officially launched the Siaya
Community Digital Hub in Bondo, Siaya
County, marking a significant step toward expanding digital access and
technology-driven opportunities at the grassroots level.

The facility is expected to provide the local
community with access to digital skills training, improved connectivity and
innovation spaces designed to support young people, entrepreneurs and content
creators seeking to participate in Kenya’s growing digital economy.
Speaking during the launch, President Ruto said the
hub would play a key role in equipping communities with the digital
capabilities required to compete in an increasingly technology-driven economy
while creating new pathways for employment and innovation.

The launch took place during the
Digital Skilling and Jobs Summit – Siaya Edition, an event focused on
strengthening digital connectivity, promoting skills development and unlocking
employment opportunities through technology and the creative economy.
Organisers
said the summit serves as a platform for engaging youth, innovators and
policymakers on strategies to support digital transformation while nurturing
local talent and expanding access to digital opportunities across the region.
