The
Telecommunications Regulatory Authority
held a ceremony in Amman to commemorate International Women's Day, reaffirming its
commitment to empowering women and promoting female entrepreneurship in the
telecommunications and postal sectors.

The event was held under the patronage of Lara Al-Khatib, Chairperson of the Authority’s
Board of Commissioners, and was attended by Nael
Al-Adwan, Secretary General of the Authority, as well as members of the
Board of Commissioners.
Speaking during the ceremony,
Al-Khatib highlighted the Authority’s efforts to strengthen women’s
participation in leadership and decision-making roles within the sector. She
noted that women working in telecommunications and postal services have demonstrated
strong professional capabilities and that the Authority is committed to
creating an enabling work environment that promotes creativity, equal
opportunity and career development for emerging female leaders.

The celebration featured a series of
dialogue sessions with prominent female figures, as well as cultural and
awareness activities that highlighted the contributions of women in the
telecommunications and postal sectors both historically and in contemporary
times. The programme also included a lecture focusing on the role of women’s
empowerment in sustaining community awareness and development.
At the
conclusion of the ceremony, Al-Khatib presented certificates of appreciation
and symbolic gifts to participants in recognition of their contributions and
efforts in advancing the sector.
