The
MTN South Africa Foundation has provided digital learning devices and
connectivity to learners at Lufhereng Secondary School in Gauteng as part of
its Back2School initiative aimed at strengthening access to technology-driven
education.
During
the activation, the foundation handed over devices preloaded with the MTN
Online School platform, along with 12 months of internet connectivity. The
initiative targets learners in Quintile 1–3 schools, which serve communities
with limited resources, to ensure that students are not excluded from
opportunities created by digital education.

The
programme forms part of broader efforts by MTN Group to enhance digital
inclusion and support the development of skills needed in an increasingly
technology-driven economy.
Officials
involved in the initiative noted that improving access to digital learning
tools is essential to strengthening the educational environment and preparing
young people to participate meaningfully in the country’s future workforce and
leadership.
The
Back2School activation reflects MTN’s ongoing commitment to supporting
education and ensuring that learners have the technological resources needed to
succeed in a rapidly evolving digital world.
