President El-Sisi meets World Bank Group President

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has received Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank Group, for high-level talks focused on strengthening cooperation and advancing Egypt’s sustainable development agenda.

According to the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El Shinawy, President El-Sisi reaffirmed the importance of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the World Bank Group. He expressed appreciation for the institution’s continued support of Egypt’s national development priorities and its role in backing the country’s economic reform programme.

The President commended the World Bank Group’s contributions to key projects across multiple sectors, highlighting initiatives aimed at social protection, healthcare, food security, education, and climate change mitigation.

During the meeting, Ajay Banga praised the ongoing coordination between the Egyptian government and the World Bank Group in implementing development programmes. He also acknowledged Egypt’s efforts to advance economic reforms, attract foreign direct investment, stimulate economic growth, and promote sustainable development.

The discussions underscored both parties’ commitment to deepening collaboration to support inclusive growth and long-term economic stability in Egypt.
