Cabinet Secretary for Information,
Communications and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo Gitau, has signed performance contracts with
key Principal Secretaries and leadership of Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies
(SAGAs) under his ministry to reinforce accountability and accelerate delivery
of strategic ICT initiatives.

The
contracts were signed with Eng. John Kipchumba Tanui, CBS, Principal Secretary
for ICT and the Digital Economy, Mr. Stephen Isaboke, Principal Secretary for
Broadcasting and Telecommunications, and the Chairpersons and CEOs of all
SAGAs, including the Communications Authority of Kenya, Media Council of Kenya,
Kenya Institute of Mass Communication, ICT Authority, Office of the Data
Protection Commissioner, Kenya Yearbook Editorial Board, National Communication
Secretariat, and Konza Technopolis.
Cabinet
Secretary Kabogo emphasized that the exercise is aligned with the Kenya Kwanza
Manifesto and President William Samoei Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation
Agenda (BETA), with a focus on expanding nationwide affordable high-speed
internet, digitizing government services, creating digital jobs, and
positioning Kenya as a continental hub for ICT innovation.

He
added that quarterly in-house reviews will be conducted to track progress,
building on last year’s improvements in service delivery across the ministry’s
core mandate. The signing highlights the government’s commitment to measurable
outcomes and enhanced performance in the ICT and digital economy sector.
