Chief
Executive Officer of MTN Zambia, Mr. Komba Malukutila has led a delegation from
the Payments Association of Zambia in a courtesy visit to President Hakainde
Hichilema at State House, focusing on the future of digital financial services
in the country.

The
meeting brought together senior officials including the Minister of Technology
and Science, the Deputy Governor Administration of the Bank of Zambia, the
Director General of ZICTA, and other key representatives from the Bank of
Zambia, ZICTA, and the Office of the President. Discussions centered on the
role of the mobile money sector in driving economic growth, expanding financial
inclusion, and advancing Zambia’s digital agenda.
Mr.
Malukutila highlighted the industry’s commitment to supporting the Government’s
National Financial Inclusion Strategy and broader Digital Financial Services
initiatives.

He stressed
the importance of collaboration with regulators and partners to enhance access
to safe and affordable financial services, support enterprise development, and
contribute to national development through responsible digital innovation.
The
engagement underscores the continued partnership between Zambia’s mobile money
sector and government institutions in promoting inclusive, technology-driven
economic growth.
