The
Chief Executive Officer of Yas Tanzania, Pierre Canton-Bacara, has reaffirmed
the company’s commitment to supporting Tanzania’s digital transformation agenda
during the Annual Working Session between the Ministry of Communication and
Information Technology and private sector stakeholders.

participants at the session, Canton-Bacara outlined key issues shaping the
future of Tanzania’s communications and ICT sector, emphasizing the importance
of sustained collaboration between government and industry players.
He
stated that Yas currently operates the widest 4G and 5G coverage across the
country, attributing this to continued investments in network expansion,
digital infrastructure, and financial inclusion initiatives. According to him,
these investments reflect the company’s long-term commitment to strengthening
connectivity and supporting national development goals.

The
working session brought together policymakers and private sector leaders to
align on strategies aimed at advancing a resilient, inclusive, and
innovation-driven digital ecosystem. Stakeholders underscored that strong
public-private partnerships will be critical to expanding access to digital
services, unlocking innovation, and ensuring equitable participation in
Tanzania’s digital economy.
