On the sidelines of the summit, Minister Hendy met with India’s Union Minister of State for Commerce, Industry, and Electronics and Information Technology, Jitin Prasada, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in digital transformation, AI, and technical capacity building. The discussions highlighted ongoing partnerships between Egypt’s Information Technology Institute and India’s National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, with plans to deepen collaboration on AI initiatives.

Both sides reaffirmed strategic partnerships and underscored the role of American ICT companies in advancing Egypt’s digital transformation.

During the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Council meeting, The Minister emphasized that Egypt’s application to join GPAI reflects a strategic commitment to ethical, human-centered AI. He outlined the country’s governance framework, adherence to OECD AI Principles, and initiatives such as a national large language model and AI applications in education, healthcare, and public services.
