Mozambique’s
national telecommunications operator, Tmcel - Moçambique Telecom S.A., has
entered into a strategic partnership with Bayobab to enhance the country’s
international connectivity and reinforce the delivery of digital services.
Under
the agreement, Bayobab will manage Tmcel’s international communication services
end-to-end, leveraging its infrastructure, technical expertise, and global
platforms. The collaboration is designed to improve scalability, reliability,
and service quality for both businesses and consumers.
Through
the partnership, Tmcel will gain access to Bayobab’s advanced communication
platforms, including IPX, international voice, and international roaming
services. The integration is expected to support seamless cross-border
connectivity, enabling customers in Mozambique to make international calls and
access global networks more efficiently.
The
alliance also represents a milestone in Bayobab’s broader African partnership
strategy, which focuses on strengthening operators across the continent by
extending access to global digital infrastructure and services.
Commenting
on the development, Tmcel Chairman Mahomed Adamo Mussá said the partnership
would strengthen the operator’s ability to deliver high-quality voice and
roaming services while supporting Mozambique’s digital transformation
objectives. Bayobab Chief Executive Officer Mazen Mroué noted that the
collaboration would enhance connectivity experiences and enable innovation
across the market.
The
partnership underscores a shared commitment to advancing Mozambique’s digital
economy by improving international communication capabilities and supporting
inclusive, next-generation connectivity.
