The
Ethiopian Space Science Society has co-organized Ethiopia’s first planetarium
and stargazing event, marking a milestone in the country’s science outreach and
public engagement efforts.
The
event, held in collaboration with the Unity Park Corporation, the Ethiopian
Science Museum, and the Dome Theater team, brought together a large number of
participants for an evening of astronomy-focused activities.

Attendees
experienced immersive planetarium shows designed to introduce audiences to
celestial phenomena, space exploration, and the broader universe. The programme
also featured a stargazing session, during which participants observed the
night sky through telescopes while receiving expert explanations from astronomy
specialists.
Organizers
described the initiative as part of ongoing efforts to promote science
education, enhance public understanding of space science, and inspire interest
in astronomy among students and the wider community.

The
Ethiopian Space Science Society indicated that similar events will be organized
in the future to expand access to space science experiences and encourage
greater public participation in scientific learning.
