Raxio Data Centres
Mozambique this week received an institutional visit from the Innovation,
Digital Transformation and Social Communication Committee of the Confederation
of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA), highlighting the growing focus on
digital infrastructure as a driver of national economic development.
The delegation, led by CTA
Committee President Mahomed Zameer, who is also Chief Executive Officer of
Yango Mozambique & Angola, toured Raxio’s Beluluane facility. The
engagement formed part of ongoing industry dialogue on the strategic importance
of resilient, secure, and high-availability data infrastructure in Mozambique’s
digital transformation agenda.

Raxio’s Beluluane site,
recognized as Mozambique’s first independent Tier III certified data centre,
was designed to support mission-critical services in line with international
standards for uptime, security, and operational resilience. Discussions during
the visit extended beyond technical capabilities, focusing on the broader
economic and regulatory implications of digital infrastructure investment.
Participants examined the
role of data centres in advancing digital sovereignty, particularly through
local data storage, regulatory compliance, and the enablement of cloud
computing, financial services, telecommunications, and enterprise
digitalisation. Stakeholders also addressed the evolving digital regulatory
framework, with emphasis on the need for continued cooperation between
regulators, operators, and industry bodies.

Raxio officials reiterated
the importance of aligning regulatory objectives with operational realities,
noting that Tier III certified facilities represent critical assets in ensuring
service continuity, data protection, and infrastructure reliability. The
company expressed readiness to contribute technical expertise to policy and
compliance discussions shaping Mozambique’s digital ecosystem.
The visit reflects
increasing collaboration between private sector infrastructure providers and
business associations as Mozambique accelerates efforts to strengthen its
digital economy. Industry leaders continue to stress that robust digital
infrastructure is not solely a commercial necessity but a foundational element
of national development.
