MTN has convened its Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Summit 2026 on the sidelines of the company’s just ended Group Leadership Gathering, bringing together executives and specialists to examine how organizations can remain resilient in an increasingly volatile global environment.

The summit was hosted by Nompilo Morafo, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer at MTN Group, and centered on the theme of maintaining a “license to thrive” against the backdrop of geopolitical instability, economic uncertainty, climate risk, and rapid technological disruption.

Discussions focused on the shifting expectations placed on corporations, particularly in areas such as sustainability, cybersecurity, corporate citizenship, and strategic communication. Participants explored how technological advancements are reshaping stakeholder engagement and risk management, while also redefining the broader purpose and responsibilities of businesses.

The conversations challenged leaders to reassess both operational models and organizational purpose, with emphasis on aligning corporate affairs functions more closely with core business strategy. Delegates examined the evolving role of corporate affairs in navigating regulatory landscapes, strengthening institutional trust, and driving measurable impact across the enterprise.

Morafo underscored the importance of cross-functional collaboration, noting that corporate affairs and sustainability teams play a critical role in enabling long-term value creation. She also acknowledged the contributions of speakers and colleagues, highlighting the summit as a platform for shared learning and professional development.

The event forms part of MTN’s broader leadership engagements aimed at strengthening strategic alignment and reinforcing the company’s commitment to responsible business practices across its markets.
