The
Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA) of Somalia, Mr.
Mustafa Y. Sheik, has undertaken a series of high-level engagements with
leading technology and communications institutions in the Republic of Türkiye
during an official visit.

The
visit follows the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at
deepening cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye in the communications and
technology sectors.
As
part of the visit, Mr. Sheik toured the Türkiye Computer Incident Response Team
(TCIRT), the National Monitoring System, the Turkish Satellite Authority
(TURKSAT), and ULAK, a communications equipment manufacturer. The engagements
provided an opportunity for technical exchanges and strategic discussions.

According
to the NCA, the meetings focused on strengthening collaboration in
cybersecurity, spectrum management and monitoring technologies, satellite
services, and the development of resilient telecommunications infrastructure.

The
visit underscores ongoing efforts by Somalia’s communications regulator to
enhance institutional partnerships and leverage international expertise to
support the country’s digital and telecommunications development agenda.
