The Italian Space Agency (ASI) has welcomed Minister Anna Maria Bernini from Italy’s Ministry of University and Research to the Broglio Space Center (BSC) in Malindi, Kenya, highlighting decades of scientific collaboration between Italy and Africa.

Founded in the 1960s by Professor Luigi Broglio, the center has evolved into a leading hub for satellite reception, telemetry, and scientific research, while also serving as a training ground for space-related skills across the continent.

ASI President Teodoro Valente emphasized the center’s strategic role in fostering partnerships with African countries and space agencies, contributing to research, innovation, and local community development.

The visit underscored BSC’s importance within Italy’s broader Piano Mattei for Africa initiative, aligning with government guidelines and international cooperation priorities.
