The
Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has received the Director of the
Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International
Telecommunication Union (ITU), Dr. Cosmas Luckyson Zavazava, PhD, during a
courtesy visit to the Commission’s Head Office.

The
visit brought together key officials of the NCC and the ITU to reinforce
collaboration on telecommunications development and regulatory advancement.
Present at the engagement were the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer of the NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida; Executive Commissioner, Technical
Services, Engr. Abraham Oshadami; Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder
Management, Ms. Rimini Makama; and the ITU Regional Director, Emmanuel Chifuel
Manasseh.
Discussions
during the visit focused on strengthening cooperation between the NCC and the
ITU, particularly in areas related to telecommunications development, capacity
building, and the advancement of inclusive and sustainable digital connectivity
in Nigeria and the wider region.

The
courtesy call underscored the longstanding partnership between the NCC and the
ITU, as well as a shared commitment to supporting policy, regulatory best
practices, and initiatives that promote universal access to ICT services.
Officials
from both organisations reaffirmed their resolve to deepen collaboration in
line with global telecommunications development goals and Nigeria’s national
digital transformation priorities.
