The
newly appointed Board of Directors of the Malawi Communications Regulatory
Authority (MACRA) has formally commenced its duties following the completion of
a two-day orientation programme.
The
orientation follows the confirmation of the board members by Malawi
Parliament’s Public Appointments Committee and the subsequent swearing-in
ceremony, which marked the official start of their tenure.

The
programme was aimed at familiarising board members with MACRA’s mandate,
regulatory framework, and strategic priorities within the communications
sector.
The
board is expected to provide strategic and policy direction to support
continued growth, innovation, and effective regulation of Malawi’s information
and communications technology sector.
