Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo Gitau has held a bilateral meeting with Deemah AlYahya, Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), to discuss the country’s potential accession to the organization.

During the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Kabogo noted the DCO Council’s invitation for Kenya to join and explored how the country could begin accessing key DCO programmes, including initiatives on digital skilling and the WE-Elevate programme for women in technology. The discussions also included finalizing the accession process and extending an invitation to the DCO to participate in the upcoming Connected Africa Summit.

The engagement reflects Kenya’s commitment to strengthening digital cooperation and capacity-building at both national and regional levels, while leveraging international partnerships to advance its digital transformation agenda.
