The
newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Orange Sierra Leone, Madam Aicha
Touré, has paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Technical and Higher
Education, reaffirming the company’s role as a strategic private-sector partner
in Sierra Leone’s human capital and digital development agenda.
The
meeting, hosted by the Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Dr. Haja
Ramatulai Wurie, focused on strengthening collaboration in areas including
digital skills development, women’s digital inclusion, innovation, and
demand-driven education within the technical and higher education sector. The
discussions were aligned with Sierra Leone’s national development priorities
and the government’s broader efforts to build a future-ready workforce.
Dr.
Wurie underscored the importance of human capital development as a national
priority, noting that partnerships with private-sector actors such as Orange
Sierra Leone are critical to translating policy objectives into tangible
outcomes, particularly for young people and women.
She
expressed optimism about deepening the collaboration under Madam Touré’s
leadership, with a shared goal of expanding the country’s digital ecosystem,
strengthening skills development pathways, and creating sustainable
opportunities that support Sierra Leone’s long-term development journey.
