Mobile Money (U) Limited has announced that its Managing Director, Mr. Richard
Yego, will step down from his role effective 28 February 2026, after four years
at the helm of the company.
In
a statement issued by the Board of Directors on 2 February 2026, the company
expressed its appreciation to Mr. Yego for his leadership and the contributions
he made to the growth and strategic direction of MTN Mobile Money Uganda during
his tenure.

To
ensure continuity of operations, the Board has put interim management
arrangements in place. From 1 March 2026, the company’s Chief Finance Officer,
Ms. Sarah Bateta Okwi, will assume the role of Acting Managing Director. The
Board noted that the appointment of a substantive Managing Director will be
communicated in due course.

Mobile Money (U) Limited reaffirmed that it remains fully operational and
committed to maintaining strong corporate governance standards while continuing
to deliver value to its customers, partners and other stakeholders.
The
Board concluded by wishing Mr. Yego well in his future endeavours and thanking
him for his service and leadership at the company.
