Isiolo County. The event, themed “Wetlands and Indigenous Knowledge: Preserving
Cultural Heritage,” included a walk through Isiolo town and focused on
promoting environmental conservation.

for environmental management. World Wetlands Day is observed annually to raise
awareness of wetlands’ ecological significance, their role in biodiversity, and
their importance in preserving indigenous knowledge and cultural heritage.

the Isiolo County Government, highlighting the value of multi-agency
collaboration in safeguarding Kenya’s natural ecosystems.
