The
coordinator of SENSAT Sénégal, Professor Gayane Faye, took part in a Regional
Workshop on Satellite Technologies held in Abidjan. The
workshop was organised by the Virtual University of Côte d’Ivoire under the
supervision of the Ivorian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific
Research, in collaboration with the United Nations–affiliated centres CRASTE-LF
and RCSSTEAP-China.
On
the opening day of the event, Professor Faye delivered a presentation titled
“SENSAT Sénégal: A Strategic Tool in the Service of Development.” The
presentation formed part of a broader programme aimed at sharing regional
experiences in satellite programmes and demonstrating how space technologies
can support socio-economic development.

The
workshop brought together experts from Beihang University in China and
representatives of various African institutions to address technical themes
including microsatellite structural design, attitude control and propulsion
systems. The discussions also contributed to strengthening South-South
cooperation and promoting academic exchanges among stakeholders within Africa’s
emerging space ecosystem.
Through
its participation, SENSAT Sénégal reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the
use of satellite technologies as a strategic lever for development and regional
collaboration.
