Telecom has officially welcomed the Wananchi Group to its operations, marking a
major step in expanding fibre leadership across East Africa. A town hall held in
Tanzania brought together teams from both companies to align on a shared vision
for high‑speed broadband and enterprise connectivity across the region.
The acquisition unites Wananchi’s established brands, Zuku and SimbaNet, known for their strong local presence and market expertise, with AXIAN Telecom’s investment capacity and pan‑African experience. The partnership aims to accelerate the rollout of fibre-to-the-home (FTTH), enterprise connectivity, and cloud solutions while building infrastructure for long-term regional growth.
The
town hall emphasized collaboration, shared values, and a unified strategy to
support digital services, economic growth, and inclusive opportunities for
