of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, and senior
officials of the Ministry, in a move that underscores ongoing collaboration
between government and the telecommunications sector.

The
engagement focused on the strategic role of telecommunications in supporting
the Federal Government’s vision of building a larger, more resilient and
innovation-driven Nigerian economy. Discussions highlighted the sector’s
contribution to productivity, digital inclusion and the delivery of services
critical to national development.
Both
parties expressed strong alignment on key priorities, including improving
quality of service for consumers, expanding access to digital services, and
strengthening Nigeria’s and Africa’s competitiveness in emerging technologies
such as artificial intelligence.
Commenting
on the meeting, Dr. Tijani noted the importance of a robust and future-ready
telecoms sector to economic growth and innovation, particularly as Nigeria
pursues its ambition of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy. He emphasized
the need to balance improved service delivery for Nigerians with the long-term
sustainability of the telecommunications industry.

The
MTN delegation, led by Group President and Chief Executive Officer Ralph Mupita
