The
Government of Cabo Verde has formally launched SKODJI DIGITAL, a major digital
economy access programme designed to open global market opportunities for Cabo
Verdean youth. The initiative, described as one of the largest of its kind in
the country, was formalised last Tuesday and entered its first implementation
phase with 1,050 places officially opened.

SKODJI
DIGITAL aims to create 3,000 opportunities for young Cabo Verdeans to
participate in global digital markets, including those living in the diaspora.
The programme is structured to move beyond conventional technical training by
providing a pathway into the gig economy, access to international remote work,
and targeted support for digital entrepreneurship through hands-on technical
assistance.
Funded
by the World Bank through the Digital Cabo Verde Project, the initiative is
being implemented by the Government of Cabo Verde through the Ministry of
Digital Economy, in partnership with local and international stakeholders. The
programme is aligned with the government’s broader strategy to convert digital
skills into sustainable income streams and position Cabo Verde as a competitive
supplier of digital talent in a borderless global economy.

Applications
for the first phase of SKODJI DIGITAL are currently open and will close on 25
February. The programme is open to Cabo Verdeans residing both within the
country and abroad.
