The
Regional African Satellite Communications Organization (RASCOM) has
successfully concluded its 78th Board of Directors Meeting, held from January
27 to 30, 2026, at the RASCOM Headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
The
four-day meeting brought together all members of the Board for in-depth
deliberations on the organisation’s strategic direction, governance priorities,
and operational outlook. The sessions were chaired by the Chairperson of the
Board, Madam Judith Yah Sunday, who also serves as Chief Executive Officer of
CAMTEL, together with the Director General of RASCOM, Mr. Timothy Ashong.

Discussions
during the meeting focused on strengthening RASCOM’s institutional governance,
advancing key strategic initiatives, and reinforcing regional cooperation in
satellite communications to support Africa’s digital and socio-economic
development agenda.
Speaking
on the outcome of the meeting, the Director General of RASCOM, Mr. Timothy
Ashong, noted that the Board’s engagement reflected a shared vision for the
organisation’s future. “The deliberations of this 78th Board meeting
reaffirm our collective resolve to position RASCOM as a resilient and
forward-looking institution serving the connectivity needs of the African
continent,” he said.
Mr.
Ashong further emphasized the importance of unity and strategic clarity in
achieving RASCOM’s mandate. “With the guidance of the Board, we remain
focused on delivering sustainable satellite solutions that deepen regional
integration and accelerate Africa’s digital transformation,” he added.

The
meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by Board members to support the
implementation of agreed priorities and to strengthen collaboration among
member states and partners. RASCOM expressed appreciation to all Board members
for their active participation, valuable insights, and continued dedication to
the organisation’s mission.
